This week? Exhausting.Well more like stretching myself a little more than I should.
I felt like I was on the go non-stop, running on fumes, and barely catching my breath. Definitely not recommended. But the coming week? Oh, it’s going to be better. Self-care is the fancy word they use but for me, it’s something more specific: REST.
And I’m prescribing it for you, too.
Mental Rest:
- Read a non-fiction book (something nourishing, not overwhelming). The Keeper of Happy Endings is a good one. Highly recommend the audiobook . At the time of writing it is free on kindle unlimited
- Decide how deep I want to go on difficult topics and give myself permission to stop when needed.
- Reduce social media time. Read my Bible instead.
Emotional Rest:
- Take deep breaths (real ones, not the half-hearted kind).
- Do a “Thank You” walk—find gratitude in the small moments.
- Smile. Laugh. Even if I have to fake it at first.
Physical Rest:
- Take a nap (yes, naps are productive!).
- Watch a movie without multitasking.
- Go to bed at a decent time (not just think about it, actually do it).
I found a sticky note on my Desire, Believe, and Thrive board, and I’m taking it as a sign to share this with you:

Be a Chief Energy Officer this week.
Feels contradictory, right? But here’s the truth: Rest doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means intentionally stepping away from stress so you can lead with clarity, presence, and purpose.
A Glimpse of this weeks blogs -My March Writing Challenge:
Here are a few blogs this week—proof that even in exhaustion, words still flowed:
A Lesson in Juicy Chicken Patties
5 Years Later: Lessons I Wish I Knew Then
Praying Scripture: How Borrowed Prayers Deepen My Journaling
Encouraging Quotes For When You Are Tired
Pantry Pizza Sauce & No-Dough Pizza: A Fun, Budget-Friendly Meal
5 Must-Have Kitchen Appliances to Save Time and Simplify Cooking
As I step into this new week, my goal is simple: Recharge, refocus, and realign. And if you’ve been running on empty, I hope you do the same.
Rest isn’t a reward—it’s a requirement.
Let’s lead with energy, but let’s rest first.
Here’s to a better week ahead!
