How to See Yourself as God’s Masterpiece

Blooming Beautifully: How to See Yourself as God’s Masterpiece

Inspired by a Spoken Word Artist, This Simple Practice Can Transform Your Life

Imagine for a moment a kind gardener, gently tending to your soil, meticulously pulling weeds, and whispering encouragement. Even though you feel like a wilting flower, struggling to find your light, he repeatedly whispers, you are so beautiful and lovely. You are radiant and bring me so much joy.  That gardener is God, and you, my dear , are His magnificent garden.

Jasmine, a captivating spoken word artist I discovered on Instagram (@thejasminesims), paints a powerful picture: We are God’s creation, and He takes immense pride in seeing us flourish. This perspective can totally change how we view ourselves, shifting from self-doubt to thriving confidence.

The Gardener’s Touch: You Are Loved, Just As You Are

The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:26-27 that we were crafted in God’s image. This isn’t just a cute line that someone thought should be in the Bible. I am still working on understanding it fully, but literally God made us a mini of HIMSELF. Your Spirit man,the part of you that will never die, looks exactly like him.

Those words signify our inherent value and beauty. Just like a gardener admires the unique blooms in their place of safety ,God cherishes every aspect of who you are.

These words in the poem went a little deeper- maybe because I have been learning a little bit more about Grace lately.

You smell like mercy

You smell like testimony

You smell like GRACE ( I will add)

But let’s be honest ,maybe it’s just me,  most times we know the truth, however we find ourselves saying the negative thing because it is relatable to others and it takes the pressure off us to explain that “even though I do not see it now, I know it is the truth”

Yes? No? Maybe?

Transforming Our Self-Talk: Words Like Fertilizer

Moving forward!  Paint this picture in your mind; a garden showered with negativity instead of sunshine and gentle rain.

I’ll save you the suspense if any of what would happen to it?

It wouldn’t stand a chance! Jasmine emphasizes the hurt and maybe a little bit of disappointment our negative talk looks like to the gardener.

It’s like when we have bent over for someone, sometimes we are still paying the price for what we have sacrificed so they can move past the hurting stage, then you hear them or see them negating what you have believed in for them .

The bizarre thing I have come to find out, sometimes that other person I am talking about is us, me, myself and I. LOL!

Ok, I will stop putting my business out there. In this case YOU.

This has worked for me when I do it

Positive affirmation or “Kind 1 on 1 meetings” with myself. The importance of positive affirmations personally, using the garden analogy is acting like verbal fertilizer that nourishes our inner garden. It is so vital to keep the flame awake , so that the work we are doing doesn’t burn us out . .The way we speak to ourselves matters tremendously.

“Imagine where your Light will take you when you begin to trust God and not the negative opinions or thoughts that live in your heart.”

Cultivating Your Inner Garden: It’s Time to Bloom!

So, how do we cultivate this beautiful garden within? Here are a few tips:

  • Practice Gratitude: Take time each day to appreciate the good things in your life, big or small. Gratitude is like sunshine, nurturing your spirit.
  • Embrace Self-Care: Make time for activities that replenish your mind, body, and soul. A relaxing bath, a walk in nature, or spending time with loved ones can all work wonders.
  • Shower Yourself with Kindness: Instead of harsh criticism, use affirmations that uplift and empower you. Speak to yourself with the same compassion you’d show a dear friend.

I believe I reposted this reel the other day- YOU ARE NOT HARD TO LOVE. The other day I let that sink in . If only I could make myself believe that as THE GARDNER believes that for me, that because I am made like HIM and I continue to find myself in Him and keep seeing myself through his eyes, I can and will like me to the point that I do not even try or let it bother me if people find it easy to like me or not
